Social exclusion: some possible broader areas of concern
On 5th September 2006, Tony Blair gave a major speech on social exclusion. As part of the preparations for this speech, the New Policy Institute were asked to prepare a briefing paper on the broader concerns.

In-work poverty
In 2008, on behalf of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, the New Policy Institute published a report on how the problems of in-work poverty should be addressed.

In 2006, the Bevan Institute and the New Policy Institute jointly published a report on in-work poverty in Wales.
Why worry about the low paid?
In 2004, Catherine Howarth from London Citizens and the New Policy Institute jointly published a comprehensive report on the problems of the low paid.
Tax credits
In 2003, at the request of UNISON, the New Policy Institute produced a paper on issues associated with tax credits.
Unemployment
In April 2009, on behalf of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, the New Policy Institute published a report setting out the arguments for and against raising the value of Jobseeker's Allowance.
Fuel poverty
In 2008, on behalf of the Eaga Partnership Charitable Trust, the New Policy Institute published a report on the links between low income and fuel poverty.
Government strategy
People sometimes say, "your site is great but what do you think the government actually should be doing". In 2001, the Fabian Society and the New Policy Institute jointly published a major report on this subject
