Definitions and data sources

The graph shows how estimated proportion of the population aged 15 to 54 misusing opiates and/or benzodiazepines in the year 2000 varies by local authority.

The data source is the report Estimating the National and Local Prevalence of Problem Drug Misuse in Scotland published by the Centre for Drug Misuse Research, University of Glasgow and the Scottish Centre for Infection and Environmental Health.

Overall adequacy of the indicator: limited.  The data does not say anything about trends over time and is somewhat dated.
