A budget of around £160 million for pilot schemes for 2001/02. The scheme is being rolled out nationally from September 2004. It will include weekly payments of £10, £20 or £30 depending on household income (up to £31,000 a year) and periodic bonuses of up to £100 if the student keeps to the terms of their 'learning agreement'. |
